Another leap of faith - our first ever Rosé and Pinot Gris
As you have probably guessed, we're a small family business and changes tend to have a big impact on us. So, it was with trepidation that we embarked on the journey of creating our first white and rosé wines. Last year, we were still figuring out what to call our new creations and getting used to the bright labels whirling off the printer.
Fast forward a few months and we're so proud of the wines, which have been flying off the shelves at South Australian bottle shops and from our warehouse to your tables, BBQs, picnic baskets and even weddings across the nation.
Our One Mad Moment Rosé is made from Langhorne Creek Cabernet and McLaren Vale Grenache grapes which were fermented separately and allowed a very short time on skins before being combined to produce a Provence style rosé with an emphasis on fruit character without residual sweetness.
The Real Review thought it:
Light and crystalline salon pink colour with forest berries, wood shavings and hint of smoked meats on the nose. Palate is bright with red berries, blood orange, shiso leaf and woody spices. Good length and well framed by a bright acidity that melds into a hint of tannins to dry the finish. A well-built wine that has used both varieties to blend something unique.
Our Pinot Gris, meanwhile, came from the Adelaide Hills and was an instant hit for its zesty, refreshing and moreish character.
Sam Kim of Wine Orbit judged it to be:
Elegant and complex, the enticing bouquet shows white flesh stone fruit, grapefruit, lemon zest and white floral aromas, followed by a juicy palate offering excellent weight and fine flow. It's vibrant and lively with a lengthy refreshing finish.
So, as the temperatures rev up, we suggest you stock up on some mouth-watering Pinot Gris and refreshing Rosé while our summer offer lasts! And if you’re a diehard red drinker, why not get The Mad Six. Salut!
Bring something different to the table.
