Region: Adelaide Hills
Tasting notes: A white wine you could sip all day. Perfect for the long summer, oysters on the beach or a spicy Asian dish. This is pinot gris from the Adelaide Hills at its best. On the nose, grapefruit, pear and a playful hint of citrus. The palate displays these fruit notes yet is daring enough to be light and refreshing rather than oily and overwhelming.
Region: Fleurieu Peninsula
Winemaking: Langhorne Creek Cabernet and McLaren Vale Grenache were fermented separately and allowed a very short time on skins before being combined to produce a Provence style rosé with an emphasis on fruit character without residual sweetness.
Tasting Notes: This wine exhibits beautiful red fruits of raspberry and watermelon over a medium bodied palate with a juicy mouthfeel and a cleansing dry finish. Perfect for delicate foods, antipasto plates and Asian dishes.
Region: Mclaren Vale
Winemaking: Both picked two days apart in mid-March. The shiraz was crushed and de-stemmed, fermented on skins for 9 days and pumped over twice a day. This extracted maximum colour and flavour. The grenache had a gentler ride, soft pressed, fermented on skins for 8 days and stored in 7 year old American oak.
Tasting notes: This wine draws shiraz and grenache from vineyards in specific McLaren Vale microregions that sit on sandy soil, offering excellent drainage and resistance from pests, while imbuing the fruits with vibrant aromas. The vines are between 60 and 100 years old, producing fruit of uncommon intensity and flavour. The wine displays chocolate, spice and a sweet earthy palate finishing with powdery tannins and length.
